This Week’s Month’s Inquiry
(next inquiry coming to you beginning of August)
There are 1,440 minutes in a day. How many do you spend on things that nourish your spirit and fill you with joy from the inside out?
This week’s inquiry is "What happens when you nourish your spirit?"
Art-Making Inquiry – nourishing your spirit
Part of this inquiry is exploring and finding things that nourish your spirit – dance, humor, art-making, being in nature, and so many more. Part of the discovery process will also be noticing what drains your energy – clutter, an argument with a loved one, watching TV, weed blowers and so many other things.
Make two lists, "things that fill me up" and "things that drain me". Sit quietly for a few minutes, see what comes to mind and add things to our lists.
As you move through your week keep noticing and adding things to your list. When you are ready, sit again with both lists and brainstorm how to spend more time on the things that fill you up. Remember with brainstorming to let all the ideas flow and just keep writing them down. Nothing gets censored. Later you review the brainstorm list and see what new ideas you want to bring action to.
Give yourself permission to feed your spirit with the things that fill you up. Give yourself more nourishment and see what happens to your experience of life.
Warm up Exercise – full and drained
1) Take 10 minutes to collage, draw, or paint what your experience of "full" is.
2) Take 10 minutes to collage, draw, or paint what your experience of "drained" is.
3) Choose something from your "things that fill me up" list. Think about it for a few minutes, imagine yourself doing it and then take 10 minutes to collage what’s there for you – thoughts, feelings, body sensations and states of being.
My Art Work as Inspiration for Your Art Work
I share my artwork here with you to inspire you to create your artwork. It is through your art-making that you will discover more about who you are.

Have
a great week and live in the remembrance that in all of time, there will only be one you. Your greatest gift to yourself and the world is the expression of your authentic self. By using art-making to connect deeply with yourself, may you find the courage and strength to share your beautiful, joyous self with the world.
